Liv. Co. Forming New Opioid Informational Task Force

LIVINGSTON COUNTY — Livingston County is in the early stages of forming an informational task force to handle the opioid epidemic.

Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty confirmed that a task force is in the process in being formed, however it’s early still and they are still bringing in partners.

Part of the new task force would include tracking data from across the county including overdoses and when narcane is administered. Naracane is an antidote administered by first responders when someone is suspected of a drug overdose.

Monroe County releases monthly statistics on overdoses and when naracan is administrated to treat a suspected overdose. Part of the new task force, which is expected to go live in September, will provide similar data for Livingston County.
