Hello Lima, Now the snow is setting in! As I write this, the elevator installers are placing the actual elevator unit in the shaft. Another few weeks and it should be operational! This will open up a world of possibilities for the 2nd floor ballroom and stage area here at Town Hall. Interesting discovery during the construction is that the thermostats on both the first and second floors have to be calling for heat in order for the boiler to turn on. No wonder it was so cold in the Town offices. The next heating system will be different.
No one should be going without food and other basic items. Call us here at the Town 582-1130 and say FOOD along with your phone number. We will have the Lima Food Pantry get in touch with you.
Livingston County finished the year up 2.3% on the sales tax numbers. That is really good news. Losses were bad in the middle of the year, but we re-bounded. Keep buying in Livingston County and keep having items shipped to your Livingston County homes and businesses. Every bit of sales tax helps to keep the property taxes down.
Welcome to Jason Stryker who is coming on board to be the clerk for the Planning and Zoning Boards.
Lima currently has a moratorium on large scale battery storage facilities. Do you have an opinion on this topic? Contact Deputy Supervisor Leta Button via email at deputysuper@townoflima.org and let her know your thoughts.
The Milk and Honey Café will be locating in the former pizzeria next to Realitee Designs. A Go Fund Me page has been established to help with the start up costs. If a coffee house is what you are craving, consider giving them a hand.
Congratulations to Simply Positive – success means moving to a larger space so they can continue to grow. This means relocating the store from Lima to Livonia next to Briggs Tire. We will miss you and wish you greater success in the future!
The heat is on in the George France building and the plumbing is commencing. Materials and timing being what they are, look for a May opening here. Just in time for ice cream season.
We are collecting Taxes at the Town Hall. If you do come in, you will see our snazzy new sliding glass transaction windows in use. Safer for everyone until things calm down. Don’t forget we have a drop box on the parking lot side of the building too.
See you around Town.
