Several Town of Lima officials and residents are petitioning the New York State Department of Transportation to improve the intersection of Doran Rd., Bragg St., and Rt. 20A in Lima.
That particularly intersection has been the site of 3-4 accidents per year, and many “near-misses” as visibility, speed, and the awkward road locations all contribute to accidents.
Bragg St. and Doran Rd. are both east of Lima’s main intersection, intersecting with Rt. 20A, a major thoroughfare through Lima. The two roads don’t “line up” at the intersection, and due to topography, trees, and the fact that Doran and Bragg St. don’t intersect directly across from each other, it’s easy for the unwary driver not to see oncoming cars.
A petition has been circulating online, which already in a very short time, has gained over 500 signatures on it, and town officials are seeking to get as many as possible before submitting it. The petition can be found at
