LIVONIA – The season opener between Livonia and Batavia was cancelled Friday night due to lightning.
The game made it just shy of half-time, before lightning interrupted. The Bulldogs were up 7-0, after a touchdown within the first minute of the second quarter by Senior Liam Clements. Less than 5 minutes remained in the second quarter before the game was called.
Officials announced that per Section V regulations, lightning warrants a 30 minute wait period. Two waiting periods were issued before a decision was made.
The game has been rescheduled to Monday, September 8th at 7 p.m in Livonia. No Officials were available for Saturday.
