GENESEO – Lighter Side Eatery plans to very soon deliver quick and easy, healthy food to hungry customers on Main Street.
Owner Steven Vasile, proprietor at University Hots next door, had a shot at obtaining the space and wanted to bring on something tasty that was unique to Main Street.
“We’ll be doing salads and pitas, lightweight pitas,” said Vasile. “I was offered the space and didn’t need it for University Hots, so I thought this is what Main Street did not have. It doesn’t directly compete with myself or anyone else.”
The food itself will be simple. Customers can choose from a menu of ‘suggestions’ or customize their own wraps with the ingredients laid out in front of them.
“We’ll have chicken, tips, Eruo meat, falafel, veggies, and a few different lettuces and peppers,” said Vasile. “It will be quick-serve. Our menu of suggestions will be on the wall here and all of the ingredients will be laid out for you to customize.”
The shop is taking shape fast.
“We hope to be open by August 1, that’s our goal,” said Vasile. “We’re excited.”
