AVON – Parade participants and community buzz are making Lifting Up Livingston’s second annual family-friendly St. Patrick’s Day Parade bigger and better than ever.
More than 40 participants have registered to be in the parade, and applications are still open and available here. Participants include numerous civic organizations, charities, fire departments and the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
“Families are excited about it and the weather looks fantastic,” said Kevin Van Allen, a founding member of Lifting Up Livingston. “We’re already building on last year’s success to make this year’s parade and festivities twice as big and twice as much fun.”
The parade will start at 1 p.m. on March 12 at Avon High School and proceed down Clinton Street to the circle and the Avon fire hall.
There will be family-friendly crafts and snacks at the fire hall and plenty of businesses open on and around Genesee Street.
