CASTILE What a difference a year makes. At this time in 2015, the geyser by the Glenn Iris Inn at Letchworth State Park was a towering ice volcano, spewing boiling water and steam high over the heads of visitors.
This year, the ‘volcano’ is nothing more than a thin sheath of ice surrounding the bubbling geyser.
The bizarre quirk of nature made international headlines last year when sustained freezing temperatures kept the ice building long into the winter.
