INTERSTATE 390 – Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Rochester man on
drug related charges after a traffic stop on the Interstate. On September 30, 2018 Deputy Brandan Flickner was assigned to the Sheriff’s Office Operation Safe Interstate initiative when he stopped a vehicle on Interstate 390 for a violation of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.
The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle was identified as 58 year old John W. Renner
of Rochester. While the Deputy Sheriff was speaking to the operator, he observed drug
paraphernalia in plain view in the vehicle. Further investigation by the Deputy Sheriff revealed
that Renner was in possession of crack cocaine. Renner was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree. Deputy Nick Greco assisted on scene.
Renner was turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for
processing and pre-arraignment detention. Renner was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Groveland Justice David Livingston. The Judge remanded Renner to the custody of the Sheriff on $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond.
