ALBANY- The lawsuit between the natural gas company Lenape Resources and the Town of Avon has begun to enter the national spotlight.
An article published by the Huffington Post outlines the lawsuit, in which the small company is seeking $50 million in damages from the town due to the moratorium on natural gas passed last June.
In a statement to the Huffington Post, Lenape Resources president John Holko stated “I’ve drilled over 100 wells in this county. I have 100 miles of pipeline, compressor stations and a disposal well. I supply gas to farmers, industrial users and interstate commerce. Now, because three guys on a town board decide they don’t want me here anymore, I’m out of business.”
