GENESEO — October 1 marks the last day to sign up for Good Food Collective, the multi-farm produce share program that involves 10 weeks of fruits and vegetables to pre-paying customers.
Think Local Geneseo was created by Madeline Smith, Campus Auxiliary Services Ambassador in Entrepreneur for SUNY Geneseo, and focuses on education and encouragement of local food, farming and business.
“Fresh local produce is delivered every Thursday to Main Street in Geneseo in boxes meant to feed two to four people,” said Smith.
Each year SUNY Geneseo’s Center for Inquiry, Discovery, and Leadership gives out student ambassador awards in the amount of $5,000 that support student designed projects that are focused on things like service learning, community outreach, and entrepreneurship.
“It’s encouraging students, both on and off campus, to shop weekly at the Geneseo Farmers Market and getting them and the community involved with a fall produce share program, part of a partnership between Geneseo’s dining services, Campus Auxiliary Services, and the Good Food Collective,” said Smith.
Today is the last day to sign up for convenient and affordable fruits and vegetables at http://thegoodfoodcollective.com/four-seasons-of-shares/fall-share/.
