Larceny at the Walmart in Painted Post

On Monday June 22, New York State Police were dispatched by Steuben County 911 to the Walmart on Silverback lane in the Town of Painted Post, for the report of a Larceny. Troopers spoke with the Walmart Asset Protection employee who stated that she had observed Cathleen M. Surine, age 46 of Tioga, PA, taking hair dye and placing it in her purse as well as not paying for laundry detergent. Surine had been previously banned from this Walmart for Petit Larceny.

Surine was observed placing the stolen items into the trunk of a vehicle and attempted to leave the Walmart parking lot with a friend. Troopers asked her to exit the vehicle and she was arrested for petit larceny, for goods totaling in the amount of $18.91, and also for trespassing.  Surine was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to return to the Town of Erwin court at a later date.
