Dansville’s Kelsey Poplawski led all scorers with 20 points, while Avon’s Jill McEvoy added 18 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists, in a losing effort.
Dansville held a comfortable lead throughout the second half, and despite cutting the lead to within four points in the second half, the Braves’ rally fell short.
“We got down early; we knocked down some shots and stayed around long enough to make it a game, but we could never get over that hump and get it back within one possession, so I give credit to them,” head coach Peter Leone said.
Dansville (1-1) plays next at Bath-Haverling Thursday, while the Braves (1-2) host Perry Friday night.
