GENESEO – The Geneseo Junior Blue Devils youth program is reaching out to the community to help tackle new helmet and cheer uniform costs for their flourishing youth football and cheerleading teams.
According to a press release from Blue Devils Cheer Coordinator Jennie Szczesniak, costs are usually covered by the program’s annual fundraisers, but they have to foot the bill for this new cost now that the program is turning ten.
“For safety reasons, the helmets have to be retired. The cheer uniforms are also ten years old and have to be replaced,” said Szczesniak. “Our kids get really into it. The third and fourth graders won the youth championship last year. It really means a lot to them.”
Sponsoring businesses will have the name of their business displayed on signage at their concession stand, listed in their programs, and announced at every home game and banquet throughout the season.
