BOLIVAR — On a rainy night, the Geneseo Blue Devils dropped a Section V matchup to the Bolivar-Richburg Wolverines by a score of 22-8.
After an early 5-yard touchdown run by quarterback Jake Clar, the Blue Devils offense went silent. The Wolverines answered with an early second quarter touchdown run by Chris Rickicki, then added another score to make it 16-8 at halftime.
“This was probably one of the most even matchups we’re going to have this year,” said Geneseo head couch Tim Dolgos.
Clar led the Geneseo offense with 58 rushing yards and the solo touchdown.
Several fumbles by the Blue Devils offense squandered a few scoring chances, and they were never able to look back.
“These guys need to tighten up and learn from their mistakes in order for us to get better,” said Dolgos.
Bolivar-Richburg (1-2) plays Nichols at home next week, while the Blue Devils (0-3) play home against Warsaw.
