CONESUS — A Conesus man was convicted on Tuesday for his involvement in a string of burglaries in February of this year after testifying against his former partner in crime, his older cousin.
Jerred King, 32, received a reduced three years in state prison for Burglary at the hands of County Judge Dennis Cohen, after his testimony led to the capture and sentencing of his cousin Jeremy King, 39, to five years in state prison after Jeremy had fled to Florida.
“I am putting in a request,” said Judge Cohen, “that Jerred King not be housed in any prison that also holds Jeremy King.”
The request was apparently made with good reason. The Livingston County District Attorney’s office added that Jeremy King complicated his case further when he allegedly attacked another inmate at the Livingston County Jail. He is currently facing additional assault charges.
Both Jerred and Jeremy King will face five years of supervision after their eventual release, and have to pay more than $4,300 in restitution to their victims.
