GENESEO — Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty announced today the arrest and extradition of Jeremy S. King, who was wanted in connection with the string of burglaries around Conesus Lake. Jeremy King’s cousin, Jerred King, is in Livingston County Jail facing numerous felony charges for the burglaries. Jeremy King fled to Florida, and has now been apprehended and is also in the custody of the Livingston County Sheriffs.
According to a statement, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office had been investigating numerous burglaries that took place around the Conesus Lake area in January and February of 2014. Since the time of Jeremy King flight to Florida, Sheriff’s Office Deputies have been working with law enforcement in Florida to locate him. The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office was able to locate King and took him into their custody.
On Tuesday, April 8th, Livingston County Deputy Sheriffs did take King into custody at the Citrus County Jail in Florida and returned him to Livingston County. King was arraigned in Livonia Town Court and remanded to the custody of the Sheriff with no bail. King is being held in the Livingston County Jail.
The King cousins will both be held until future court proceedings. Deputy Michael Williams and Investigator Joshua Monster handled the extradition and the arrest. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by District Attorney Greg McCaffrey.
