AVON – The beautiful, historic Avon Inn, a social hub for the Avon community for four happy decades, will be shutting down at the end of 2015.
The glowing mansion on East Main Street that has been host to generations of family weddings and fundraisers will be serving its last meals in the first weeks of January as its owners cap many years of success and hospitality with a well-earned retirement.
Linda Moran, who is the owner of the Avon Inn, announced the Inn’s closure after unsuccessful attempts to establish new management for the 5&20 icon.
According to social media posts, the last night will be Jan. 9 for the Avon Community Cares fundraiser in honor of Blair Phillips.
The Inn was built in 1820 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
