I-390 Stop Finds An Unlicensed Driver and Drugs

INTERSTATE 390: Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Rochester woman following a traffic stop on Interstate 390.
On January 18th, 2019 Deputy Shawn Whitford was assigned to the Sheriff’s Office initiative, Operation Safe Interstate. The Deputy Sheriff did stop a motorist on the interstate for a violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

The operator, Cassandra E. Odom, age 25 of Rochester NY, was found to have a suspended New York State driver’s license and was taken into custody by the Deputy Sheriff for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree.  Further investigation on scene did locate suboxone, a controlled substance, in Odom’s possession without a legal prescription. Odom was further charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree.

Odom was turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
Odom was later arraigned in the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Groveland Town Justice Jeanean Love. The Judge remanded Odom to the custody of the Sheriff on $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond.
