YORK – The York Central School study hall monitor who was arrested Monday has been charged with several crimes after allegedly serving booze to local underage kids at her home in Piffard.
According to a press release by Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, Amber Burdick, 25, was charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child and Endangering the Welfare of a Child after an investigation by Deputies implicated that she had allegedly been serving alcohol to several underage children, as well as students who currently attend York Central School.
The Sheriff’s Office alleges that once she got wind of the investigation, Burdick contacted witnesses, begging them to keep quiet if they were approached by the Sheriff’s Office. This resulted in the additional charge, Tampering with a Witness. According to the release the incident did not take place on School grounds.
Burdick was arrested by Deputy Rebecca Kane, who handled the investigation. Burdick was arraigned in front of York Town Justice Walt Purtell yesterday at 2:30 p.m., and ultimately released on her own recognizance.
Burdick will return to York Town Court at a later date to face her charges, all Misdemeanors.
