HONEOYE – On Thursday, January 3rd a tractor accidentally knocked down several utility poles on County Rd. 40, near Bell Rd., trapping a tractor driver inside. The tractor was on the road going from one farm to another, on or near the side of the road, when it clipped a low-hanging wire, pulling the utility poles down. According to sheriff’s deputies, the tractor was legally on the road, but the wires were low. The operator did not get out of the tractor until National Grid was called to cut the power, because the electrical lines came to rest on the tractor. Electrical power in Honeoye near the accident was out for several hours. Power has since been restored.
