GENESEO – An 11th grade honor-roll student at Ballston Spa high school near Albany wrote to mayor Richard Hatheway in Geneseo with ideas and drawings for solar powered lamp posts at ‘main intersections’ in the village.
Skyler Cruz Wolsey’s letter reads as follows:
“Dear Mayor Richard Hatheway:
Hello there sir! My name is Skyler Cruz Wolsey from Ballston Spa & resident of Capital Region. I’ve researched Geneseo & one of main intersections that u have there both Google Maps & on the road. I enclosed only 1 new adjustment for your town.
For instance, I made ideas such as black poles and traffic solar lights. Solar traffic lights would be always useful to save a lot of electricity and greatly help in case the power ever out.
For example, I looked at the areas of traffic lights that have been dangerous there. I made many drawings to have new adjustments to improve one of Geneseo’s intersections.
Also, my newest drawings & knowledge will both help for residents of the town of Geneseo to feel safe to have the one main intersection to be improved.
So, I know you’re a busy guy as town mayor, but I appreciate taking a look at my ideas. I am interested to be improving the town of Geneseo, traffic safety & Livingston County into the future.”
The letter is signed, Skyler Cruz Wolsey, Local Resident of Ballston Spa & Saratoga County.
