Emmanuel L. Lopez of Buffalo has been sentenced to over five years in federal prison following an ICE-HSI investigation into sales and possession of heroin, fentanyl, and tramadol.
The investigation consisted of two controlled purchases by undercover agents who secured 52 bags of narcotics; as well as observed transactions and the arrest of one of Lopez’s customers, who admitted to buying heroin from the defendant and had Lopez’s contact information in his cell phone.
Lopez was arrested on December 5th, 2017, and was in possession of his cell phone and over $2,500 in cash. According to information gleaned from his cell phone, Lopez sold over 6,000 bags of heroin in the latter part of 2017 alone.
Lopez was ultimately charged with possession with intent to distribute, and distribution of over 100 grams of heroin. He was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Wolford.
