Mike Falk, Lima Town Supervisor
Hello Lima! The Family Dollar/Dollar Tree is open! Yay! Please stop in to look around if you have not already. It is really good to see the place fixed up and in use. Wayne Childs has taken over as the Chairman of the Planning Board. Many thanks to George Gotik for years upon years of chairing that board. George will remain on the planning board for the balance of his appointed term. Jim VanDick has taken over as the Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals.

Your petitions were heard! NYS Dept of Transportation has completed the traffic study at the intersection of 5&20, Bragg and Doran. Most of the accidents are caused by West Bound traffic. Most are 90 degree collisions. DOT will be changing the signage to larger and slowing down the traffic on 5&20 in both directions. There will also be some re-sculpting of the Bragg St. approach. The work is intended to be done in 2022. My name is the official complainant on the letter, but without magnification we would not have been heard. Thanks to Elizabeth Parmelee for spearheading the online petition and to all who signed it. Thank you to Assemblywoman Marje Byrnes for advocating for change. Thank you also to Senator Pat Gallivan for his support. Lastly, much work was done at the Livingston County Traffic Safety Board level. The Chairman who pushed it through was Bruce Mayer. Sadly Bruce passed away December 18th leaving a rich legacy of decades of community service that we all will benefit from. You are missed Bruce. May choirs of angels sing you to your heavenly reward.
The K&K Stripping Building is no more. This was a superfund toxic site right on Buell Ave. The Livingston County Land Bank had the building safely removed. The DEC will be removing and replacing the soil. The lot left behind will be a residentially zoned lot.
Our VFW Post 26 collected about $2000.00 worth of personal care items that were brought to Veterans in private nursing care and at the VA hospital in Canandaigua. This collection takes place annually just after Thanksgiving. Mark your calendars to participate next year. Items can be dropped off ahead of time at the Town Offices if you cannot make that Saturday. Thank you to all who donated.
Our Legion Post 282 is hosting Fish Frys on Fridays 4pm until gone. Just north of the 4 corners in West Bloomfield – you can’t miss it. Go early…
Did a big rock ding your windshield? Is it time to have a remote car starter put on you car? Then head over to County Wide Glass & Car Toys located in the new building at the corner of Heath Markham and 5&20. They have all the stuff to pimp your ride and even fix the windows in your house! They are the ones that installed the transaction windows in the Town Hall. Give them a call and welcome them to Lima at 585-438-4301.
See you around Town. Mike Falk
