GENESEO — After a notably dry July for Livingston County, the National Weather Service has advised that torrential downpours are expect throughout the area.

The rainfall in the Finger Lakes Region is expected to average three quarters of an inch, with more than one inch possible for areas east of Lake Ontario. Along with the rain, the National Weather Services has advised of the possibility of flooding for the areas effected areas. The current observed precipitation for the Livingston County area is between one and three quarters of an inch, with more still falling.

The rain is expected to clear up for Thursday with mostly sunny skies, however the chance of scattered showers will return on Friday.
