GENESEO — The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory as well as a hazardous weather outlook for the Livingston County area.

The heat advisory, which is in effect from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 6, is expected to produce temperatures in the 90s as well as high humidity. Once the high temperatures leave, thunderstorms are expected to move into the area, some of which have the potential for wind gusts of 20 mph or more.
Tuesday morning is the most likely time for thunderstorms, however scattered showers may continue throughout the area as late as Saturday. Wednesday morning commuters should also plan extra time, as patches of fog are expected until 8 a.m.
