SPRINGWATER — Three adults who were charged with swiping a Chevy Cruz, were caught thanks to ‘On Star Service,’ and along with the trio a quantity of heroin was intercepted.
According to a press release from Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, Paula Miller, 33, Anthony Logue, 37, and Andrew Fuller, 19, were stopped in the Town of Springwater Early Saturday morning, allegedly operating a vehicle that had been reported stolen earlier in Amity. They were all charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree, a class E Felony. Additionally, Miller and Fuller were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree and criminal possession of Hypodermic Needles, after deputies discovered 11 bags of heroin in the vehicle.
Sheriff Dougherty states in the press release that New York State Police from Amity had reported a stolen vehicle earlier in the evening and with the assistance of ‘On Star Service’ they were able to track the stolen vehicle to the town of Springwater, in Livingston County, where Sheriff’s Deputies were able to swoop in and make the collar. Deputy Michael Wade stopped the stolen vehicle, operated at the time by Paula Miller, with the assistance of Deputy James Merrick. Subsequently, all three subjects were arrested.
Sheriff Dougherty stated that Sergeant Joseph Zambito, Deputy Martin Herkimer with K9 partner Oxo, Deputy Brandon Flickner and Deputy Michael Williams also assisted in the arrests.
The trio were arraigned in the Town of Springwater Court by Judge Haywood and remanded to the custody of the Sheriff. The three were turned over to the Livingston County Jail in lieu of $1500 cash bail or $3000 secured bond. All three subjects will appear in Town of Springwater at a later date for a felony hearing.
