Lois J. Merrick, age 81, of Groveland, died Friday, February 8, 2019 at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home in Livonia, NY. She was predeceased by her brothers, Lyle and Richard Essler.

She is survived by her husband, James, children, Ron (Marsha) Merrick of Geneseo, Lenis (Greg) Adamson of Groveland, grandchildren, James (Rachel) Merrick of Geneseo, Andrea Frisch of Groveland, Amanda (Doug) Schultz of Piffard, Joshua (Julie Schultz) Adamson of Groveland, Laura Adamson of Groveland, great grandchildren, Kayla Schultz, Haley and Wyatt Adamson, Charlie and Lucy Merrick, sister, Brenda (Tom) Westoven of TN, many nieces and nephews.
Lois was born October 7, 1937 in Hume, NY the daughter of Robert and Ethel Palmer Essler. She was the Chairwomen for the Livingston County Republican’s Committee for many years. Lois was known for playing the keyboard and a longtime member of the Geneseo United Methodist Church.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 11, 2019 from 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 11 AM at the Geneseo United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Griswold officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Groveland.
