GROVELAND – An online fundraiser is underway for the young family who lost everything in Friday’s fire.
Ashley and Billy Lantz and their 10-year-old daughter, 8-year-old son and 8-month-old daughter lost their home, their dog, most of their property, their Christmas presents and their dog, ‘Shot gun,’ who is still missing.
“We appreciate all the support and help we have been receiving from everyone,” said Ashley Lantz.
The family was away at the time of the fire, staying with their 8-month-old, who is suffering from respiratory syncytial virus, in a hospital.
Carol Kingston posted the following when she created the GoFundMe page on Dec. 16:
On Dec. 15, 2017 while my step daughter Ashley and her husband Billy were staying at the hospital with their baby, they lost their home to a fire. Thankfully no one was home, so no one was hurt, that is our greatest blessing in the whole situation. However, there is nothing left. The house isn’t even standing anymore, it is a pile of tinder covered in snow. The fire was so bad it melted things in the yard around it, bikes, trampoline, pool, it is all gone. So when we say nothing is left, we mean, nothing is left. Including everything they had for Christmas this year.
This is a family of 5. Ashley and Billy have a 10 year old daughter, 8 year old son, and a 8 month old daughter, which they have been in the hospital with for weeks now due to RSV.
They have had a very rough year. Hospitalizations, car issues, loss of job, sick baby and now this.
We are not asking for you to supply everything they’ve lost, we are only asking that you please help them as much as you can. We realize that things are tight for eveyone this time of the year, but if you could help just a little or share this so others may be able to help. It is all appreciated.
