At age 89, Bill passed peacefully on June 26, 2021 at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home in Livonia. He was born on October 3, 1931 in Sodus, NY to the late Clarence W. Burrus Sr. and Ethel (Pennock) Burrus Webster. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his son Clarence W. Burrus III “Bud”, grandson Jamie Burrus Taylor, and his sisters, Edna, Dorothy, and Molly.
Survived by his wife Sharon Burrus and children; Darla Burrus, Michelle (Rick) Engleson, Jamie (Christine) Burrus, Bryan Burrus, Lisa (Robert) Kingston, Sherry Bennett, Cheryl (Mike) Quibell and Shalena Burrus; grandchildren, Ashley (Nick) Jenkins, Patrick Kingston, Bradlee (Julieta) Quibell, Ciara Quibell, and Bryce Quibell, Christian Burrus, Olivia Burrus, Brittany Burrus, Josh Burrus, Jay Foreman, Sarah Carroll, Michael Siebert, Tiffany Kettavong, Justin Strasburg, Jessica Dudek, Michael Bennett, Amy Bennett; several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Bill enjoyed a long and full career over the years. As a young man, he worked in the family grocery store. He drove tractor trailer early on for a while, Bill also worked for several years at Foster Wheeler in Dansville. For a number of years he was self-employed as a contractor. For a short time he drove charter bus for Great Lakes and Empire Trailways, Bill then finish out his career driving tractor trailer for J&J and Ryder Logistics Transportation.
Bill will always be remembered for his generous heart and humor.

Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Rte 15 & 20a, Livonia, NY where Bill’s Funeral Service will be held at 12 noon, following calling hours.
