LIVINGSTON COUNTY – A man serving a prison sentence for multiple armed robberies smiled broadly in court as he pled guilty to Assault in the Second Degree for breaking the wrist of a corrections officer at Groveland Correctional Facility in September of 2014.
Benjamin Sheppard, 22, of Central Islip, NY, will have his prison time extended by 5 years and will be on 5 years of post-release supervision.
Sheppard is serving his sentence for two counts of Robbery in the First Degree and one count of Robbery in the Second Degree for robbing multiple Long Island gas stations using a silver handgun in 2011.
Sheppard was relocated to Upstate Correctional Facility in Malone, NY after the incident.
