SCOTTSVILLE — A beloved Scottsville farmer is in need of financial support after suffering a severe brain aneurism that led to multiple strokes and now requires thousands of dollars in medical costs for care and treatment.
According to a GoFundMe.com page, Steve Krenzer, of Krenzer farms was initially diagnosed with an aneurism back in 2010. Krenzer then suffered a setback in his recovery when in June of 2014 the aneurism had ruptured causing him a series of strokes.
“We are pleading for your help for our friend and classmate Steve Krenzer. Steve is from our small town in Scottsville, New York. Steve’s a farmer, his family’s farm dates back many generations. The Krenzer farm is best known for beans, corn, wheat and hay. Steve, like most American farmers was always up before the sun and still working well into the night – 7 days a week 365 days a year.” states the GoFundMe page.
The tragedy is all the worse since the loss of Kranzer’s father and medical setbacks for his mother cost the Krenzer family their farm, despite the rallying of the Scottsville community in attempts to raise funds.
Family and friends of the Krenzers are hoping to raise $100,000.
