Gov. Cuomo Orders National Guard To Take Away Upstate Ventilators & PPE Equipment

Governor Andrew Cuomo has signed an executive order commanding the NY National Guard to seize upstate ventilators personal protective equipment (masks, gowns et.al.)  and transport them downstate.

Assemblywoman Marjorie Byrnes, upset by this action, said that the Governor waited until the Assembly left Albany to take this drastic action.  “The Governor keeps telling us that things will gets worse in upstate New York when it comes to COVID-19 infections. Yet now he is saying he’s going to take vitally needed ventilators and protective equipment away from upstate hospitals. This absolutely outrageous and unconscionable!  We will pushback against this.” she vowed.

This action comes as the numbers of positive cases and deaths are growing in the upstate areas.
