LIVONIA – Town Supervisor Eric Gott announced that the Hemlock Fire Department will soon receive a surplus Livingston County Sheriff’s Office vehicle.
The Facebook page ‘Gott for Supervisor’ announced that Gott secured the vehicle, the Hemlock Fire Department’s first Tahoe.
“I am happy to report that I was able to secure a used Chevy Tahoe for the Hemlock Fire Department to be used as a Chiefs vehicle,” read a post on Tuesday. “Thank you to Livingston County, Hemlock Fire Commissioners and Department membership for helping make this important piece of equipment a reality. A special thank you to Chief Mike Belknap for reaching out and asking me to help. Delivery will take place soon.”
Gott said that the Fire Department will purchase the Tahoe for $6,000 from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office when it becomes surplus soon.
“$6,000 is a great deal,” said Gott. “Tahoes normally run for about $10,000 but since they are a fire department the county agreed to sell it for $6,000.”
Hemlock is a hamlet within the Town of Livonia.
