LIVONIA – Livonia Senior High School was host to the Livingston County 4-H Horse Bowl and Hippology events on Saturday, Feb. 28, where twenty-three members participated in Horse Bowl, and nine members participated in the Hippology event.
According to a press release from the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Livingston County (CCE), All Novice, Junior, and Senior participants in Horse Bowl and Hippology qualified for regional events on Saturday, March 7 at Midlakes School in Phelps.
Audrey DeWit, Molly Herendeen, Lucy Kirkwood, Margot Scully, Porter Scully, and Erica Reigelsperger participated in Horse Bowl as Cloverbuds.
The Novice Horse Bowl results were as follows: 1st – Daniela Gonzalez, 2nd – Morgan VanCuren, 3rd – Adele Clark, 4th – Laberta Pompeo, 5th – Ella Countryman, 6th – Morgan Campany, 7th – Emmalynn Schleede, 8th – Maddie Shafer, and 9th – Anna Schafer.
Maddy Pernicone and Annie Taylor finished first and second respectively in the Junior Horse Bowl event.
The Senior Horse Bowl results included: 1st – Tessa Parker, 2nd – Kate Miner, 3rd – Meghan Miller, 4th – Jill Pero, 5th – Dana Pernicone, and 6th – Ashley Wight.
Ella Countryman finished first in the Novice Hippology event. Laberta Pompeo and Emmalynn Schleede finished second and third respectively.
In the Junior Hippology event, Maddy Pernicone finished in first place.
Dana Pernicone finished first in the Senior Hippology event. The remaining results included: 2nd place – Tessa Parker, 3rd – Jill Pero, 4th – Ashley Wight, and 5th – Meghan Miller.
CCE thanked 4-H volunteers Jennifer Lilly and Margy Holyst for coordinating the events as well as all the parents and volunteers who helped to make the event a success.
