Yesterday, December 9th, the number of new COVID-19 deaths topped 3,000 for the first time in the U.S. Also as of Wednesday, an average of over 200,000 Americans per day were testing positive for COVID-19 — another record. Many health officials are predicting these numbers will increase as the holiday season is upon us.
On the positive side the Food and Drug Administration says the Pfizer’s vaccine is strongly protective against COVID-19. It may be approved shortly despite some warnings from the United Kingdom that there are adverse reactions for a minority of patients thus far. In addition the FDA is also seriously considering approving soon the vaccine made by Moderna.
Meanwhile a survey from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research shows about one-half of U.S. adults either are unsure or definitely against being vaccinated.
