GENESEO – The Geneseo Blue Devils defeated the Pavilion Golden Gophers at home Wednesday evening.
The Blue Devils emerged victorious with a 25-19, 25-17, 25-19 victory over the Golden Gophers. Senior Sam Hammond put up 11 kills and 4 aces while freshman Stefanie Ledwith added 24 assists. Senior Rachel Nicholls also contributed 12 digs and 6 aces. Pavilion’s Kelsey Milligan logged 8 digs on the evening.
“We came out ready for a tough divisional game against Pavilion and one of the best players in in the LCAA and got a great match,” said Blue Devils coach Chris Butera. “We were able to stick to our gameplan and control the pace and tempo for the majority of the match and it ended up in our favor.”
The Golden Gophers are 3-3 overall and 1-1 in league competition. The Blue Devils are now 5-1 overall and 2-0 in league play.
The Blue Devils next match is at home against Way-Co on September 18 at 6p.m.
