GENESEO – The Geneseo Blue Devils defeated the Livonia Bulldogs at home Tuesday evening to hand them just their second loss of the season.

The Blue Devils won 25-9, 25-13, 25-12 thanks to a strong performance from a number of key players. Senior Sam Hammond brought her A-game, earning 10 kills on the night. Senior Rachael Nicholls recorded 11 digs and 7 aces for the Blue Devils while freshman Stefanie Ledwith made a key contribution of 20 assists. For the Bulldogs, senior Kelly Hierlwimmer added 3 kills and senior Nicole Donnelly added 7 digs.
“Our girls always get fired up to play Livonia and last night was no exception. They are the biggest school in the LCAA and it’s always great to see how we stack up against them,” said coach Christopher Butera. “We served tough and passed great, allowing Stef to spread the ball to our hitters. It was a complete team victory and hopefully we can use this momentum going forward in the season.”
The Blue Devils are now 7-1 overall while the Bulldogs are 5-2. Both teams have a perfect 2-0 record in their respective divisions.
The Blue Devils next match will be at home against Perry on Thursday, September 25 at 4:30p.m.
