WAYLAND-COHOCTON – The Geneseo Blue Devils defeated Cuba-Rushford’s Rebels 25-6, 25-8, 25-11 in Tuesday night’s Section V Class DD semifinal to earn a trip to the finals for the fourth year in a row.

Senior Rachael Nicholls led the way for the Blue Devils with 5 kills and 8 aces. Freshman Stefanie Ledwith played a key role in the victory tallying 12 assists along with senior Abbey Anderson who earned 8 digs through a solid defensive performance. For the Rebels, freshman Riley Howe contributed 8 kills.
“Our girls were fired up and ready from the first serve. They made few unforced errors, passed well and served strong,” said Head Coach Christopher Butera. “Making it back to the finals for the 4th straight year was a goal of theirs and a testament to the hard work and dedication they have showed throughout the year.”
Additionally, this victory marks Head Coach Christopher Butera’s 100th career win in only six years as head coach.
The Geneseo Blue Devils will play undefeated Honeoye in the Section V Class DD final at 6p.m. on Friday, October 31 in Canandaigua.
