NUNDA – Geneseo’s girls volleyball finished off an undefeated regular season Friday night, and played spoiler at the same time.
The Lady Blue Devils sit at 18-0 and 8-0 in Livingston County play, after downing host Keshequa on the Indians’ Senior Night in 3 games, 25-21, 25-21, and 25-19.
Geneseo hasn’t lost a divisional game since 2009, compiling a 32-0 mark.
“This couldn’t happen to a better group of players. They are a selfless team that works hard day in and day out. I am proud to call myself the coach of such an exceptional group of young women that far exceeded my expectations. Though what we have accomplished is special and something to celebrate, the season is not over and we still have more goals to achieve,” says head coach Chris Butera.
The Lady Blue Devils were led by Maggie Wheeler’s 28 assists and 4 kills, while Rachael Nicholls notched 15 kills and 15 digs. Abbey Anderson chipped in with 20 digs.
Geneseo will be the top seed in the Class DD sectionals, which begin next week.
