GIRL’S SOCCER: Geneseo Advances to Finals After a Shutout

GENESEO – Geneseo won 2-0 in the class C-2 semifinals Tuesday night against Red Jacket. The scores were made by Heidi Phelps and Grace Hainsworth. Faith Hainsworth is credited with making two saves at goal.

“I can’t tell you how much it means to these girls to get to the finals,” said Coach Nick Drollette. “They’ve worked so hard this year to get there that anything less and I think they would have considered their season a failure. We know we have our work cut out for us against a very good Marion squad but this team works hard every day to prepare for the next game so I know they’ll be ready to play.”
