DANSVILLE – The Dansville Lady Mustangs made a great comeback for a victory against Wellsville Wednesday night.
According to a press release from Dansville coach Arin Belden, the final score was 4-2 Dansville after the Mustangs
“The mustangs got on the board early just 4 minutes into the game with a goal by Mackenzie Lawless on a Sarah Cotton assist,” said coach Belden.”The team then fell behind with Wellsville scoring a late first half goal by Rayanna Anderson and then another just 3 minutes into the 2nd half.”
Dansville then fought back to tie the game on a long strike from Maddie Farrell.
The Mustangs kept up the pressure with several scoring chances and shots before finally wiping away the tie when Kate Ferguson slotted a Maddie Farrell pass by the keeper.
“Ferguson wasn’t done yet, as just eight minutes later she fed a pass across the box that found Yvonne Ceder on the back post for the Mustangs,” said coach Belden. “That goal sealed the game and the victory for the lady mustangs.”
Katie Chan made just 4 saves. Dansville out shot Wellsville 22-6 on the game and their record improves to 4-5-2 on the year.
The Mustangs’ next game is Monday night at Hornell at 6:30 p.m.
