DANSVILLE — The Dansville Mustangs fell to the Wayland-Cohocton Eagles 2 -0 after a physical rivalry battle.
The Eagles’s Jessie Hammers capitalized on a late first half opportunity off of a penalty kick making it 1-0 at the half. The 2nd half was much of the same with both teams having some scoring chances and a lot of physical play. Madison Lewis found the net at the 24:48 mark of the 2nd half for the Eagles.
Katie Chan had a solid game in net for the Mustangs making 10 saves.
“Our defensive back four of Maddie Farrell, Leah Whiteman, Grace Wearkley and Sarah Cotton played extremely well for the Mustangs,” stated Arin Belden, Dansville Coach. “We continued to fight and had some scoring chances even late into the game.”
Dansville drops to 4-7-2 on the season.
Next game is Saturday night October 10th @ 6:30 pm at Ralph Clements Field for the Mustang’s senior night.
