GIRLS BASKETBALL: Way-Co Fights Back to Defeat Cal-Mum as Coach Best Notches 500th Win

CALEDONIA — The Wayland Cohocton Eagles defeated the Caledonia Mumford Raiders 36-32 earning Coach Best his 500th career win.

Alex Button led the Eagles with 13 of her 20 points coming in the  2nd half as Way-Co turned a 3 point deficit into a 4 point win.

The Eagles held the Raiders to 4 points in the 3rd quarter to take the lead 25-24. Kadeynn MacInnis and Makenzie Johnson each added 6 to help the Eagles

The Raiders were led by Gill Flint who had 14 points and is now tied for the career scoring record with 2007 graduate Erica Conte at 1,165 points. Gill added 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Sam Bickford added 10 points for the Raiders in the loss. Way-Co move to 4-1 and CM drops to 3-1.
