LIVONIA – The Livonia Bulldogs cruised past the Wellsville Lions Tuesday night and credited their solid defense for putting them over the edge.
The final score was 52-23 Livonia.
“You know we started the season slow, we went through a bit of a funk, but the girls buckled down after the first of the year,” said Livonia coach Karen Schuster. ” These kids have really come to play, especially on the defensive end. They really did a great job tonight and I’m proud of them. But we’re not done!”
Madeline Herzog, who scored 7 points for Livonia, also said that defense was key to their victory.
“Our coach tells us every day in practice, ‘defense wins games, defense wins games,'” said Herzog. “So when we come out here and play, defense is what’s going to win it for us, not just the offense.”
Niki Templeton led scoring for Livonia with 15 points.
Amy Lorshbaugh led scoring for Wellsville with 8 points, followed by Erin Lawson with 5 points.
