The Leopards kept the score close for most of the game, going into the 4th quarter with the score tied up 31-31.
In the 4th quarter, the Bulldogs outscored the Leopards 13-3, putting them in a 10 point lead to finish the game.
“I was really proud of the girls’ 4th quarter effort,” commented Coach Karen Schuster. “We outscored them 13-3 in the fourth quarter and made some major defensive stops. Vanessa Galbraith did a good job blocking #31, their hot shooter.”
Maddy Herzog scored 9 of the Bulldogs’ 13 points in the fourth quarter and scored a game total of 15 points. Also leading the game was Morgan Hyde, who scored a total of 20 points for the Bulldogs.
“There was a lot of pressure,” said Coach Schuster of the game as a whole. “Sometimes the first game of the playoffs is a little tough. Hopefully next game we’ll settle down and relax a bit.”
The Bulldogs return Feb. 25th at 2 P.M. to take on the #1 seed Mynderse at Mynderse Middle School in the second round of the playoffs.
