Mindy Mazurowski hit a short jumper and got the ‘and one’ call to make it a one-point game with two seconds remaining in regulation. She then would go on to hit a clutch free throw to tie it 40.
“I was really proud of how our girls didn’t hang their heads after our two point guards had fouled out,” head coach Pete Leone said. “I was proud of our free throw shooting down the stretch, it gave us that extra advantage.”
This was a tough physical battle from the tip off. Both teams went into the locker rooms at halftime clinched at a 19 all score.
The Lady Braves recieved balanced scoring out of Jill McEvoy and Mindy Mazurowski, scoring 10 points each, and, in addition, Kali Mouw added 9 points.
“This win will definitely help us carry some momentum into next week with two tough games and a division opponent (Letchworth),” Leone said.
The Lady Braves (6-4) will take on a well-coached York Golden Knights team (7-3) Tuesday at 7pm.
