GENESEO – The Millenium Drive Extension project has been completed and is open for traffic.
According to a press release from Livingston County, this extension, funded by Livingston County and a County priority project for 2016, creates a second access point to the Millennium Drive Complex via Veteran Drive.
“The road connects the complex directly to the Wal-Mart Plaza, especially timely given that the holiday shopping season is in full swing,” said Livingston County in the release. “This road project was designed to help mitigate traffic concerns at the intersection of Millennium Drive and Lakeville Road (US 20A) by providing alternative access in and out of the complex for its many tenants and visitors. The roadway extension also provides access to parcels suitable for potential future development.”
The extended Millennium Drive is intended to allow traffic to move smoothly to and from the Town Hall Plaza onto Veteran drive and Lakeville Road. The plaza includes the Town Hall and Federal Credit Union. Construction began in 2014.
Livingston County thanked developer Greg O’Connell, the Village of Geneseo Public Works Department and the Livingston County Highway Department for their collaboration on the project.
