GENESEO – Anticipation will pour this Friday as downtown Geneseo’s businesses open their doors and bottles for the Geneseo Merchants Association (GMA)’s May Day Wine Stroll.
According to an event page from GMA, the May Day Wine Stroll invites all 21 and older to hop around Main Street and taste the carefully crafted works of local wineries and distilleries.

The 11 local wineries and distilleries dot the western New York and Finger Lakes regions. They are Honeoye Falls Distillery, Black Willow Winery, Old Stump Blower Ciderworks, Shoreacre Wines LLC, Victorianbourg Wine Estate, Merritt Estate Winery, Deer Run Winery, Lakewood Vineyards, Winery at Marjim Manor, Zugibe Vineyards and Black Button Distillery. The vendors will host their tastings at the Big Tree Inn, Art Smart Studio, Crickets Coffee Company, Honeygirl Gourmet, Touch of Grace, Sundance Books, David Mann Jewelers, Envy, Not Dot Shop, and Valley Liquor Shop. Valley Liquor will provide the space for two: one winery and one distillery.
The May Day Wine Stroll will commence at 4 p. m. and saunter to 7 p. m. on Friday, May 6. Tickets are available for purchase online and the day of for $16.82 and $20 respectively, although they usually sell out in advance. With a coupon found online, participants can receive 10% off any purchase from a participating winery at Valley Liquor Shop.
Tickets are also available for purchase at Cricket’s Coffee, David Mann Jewelers, Image Empire, Genesee Valley Florist, Not Dot Shop, Touch of Grace, and Valley Liquor Shop.
Strollers will receive a complimentary wine glass at each stop and a map of their locations.
Registration will be at the Big Tree Inn. There will also be a raffle for a door prize valued at over $200, which strollers can enter by submitting their ticket stub to B&D Art and Framing.
Another wine stroll is slated for August 12.
A portion of proceeds from this event will benefit Chances and Changes, a local non-profit organization that serves victims of domestic violence in Livingston County.
