TALLAHASSEE, FL — Geneseo running star Catherine Staley beat feet in the Junior Olympic Cross Country 3,000 Meter race this weekend at Apalachee Regional Park.
Staley, who has made quite a reputation for herself in the local running scene, competed with 323 other young athletes. Staley finished the 3,000 Meter course in a time of 11:24.92, earning her 12th place in the 9-10 year old girl division.
Staley’s running accomplishments so far include winning this past years’ Geneseo Trio of races. The races include the Oak Tree 5k, the Friday Knight 5k at SUNY Geneseo and the Ramon Rocha 5k.
In 2016, Staley placed in the top 25 in the Junior Olympics, earning her All-American status.
