GENESEO – The Geneseo/Livonia/Dansville Lakers defeated the Aquinas Institute Little Irish 4-1 in a great game at home.
The game started with great defense from the Lakers goalie who blocked 12 shots that were on target in the first period. The Lakers offense played slow and conservative offense at the start of the game only shooting 3 shots on goal but were able to score one goal for a 1-0 lead at the end of the period.
In the second period both teams came out very physical laying heavy checks on one another with their aggressive play. The Lakers were able to dominate the period offensively lighting up the Little Irish’s defense for 3 goals, one coming from Joe Hopper who had an amazing slap shot from the defending teams blue line. The Lakers were able to score their fourth goal during a power play.
The Little Irish were able to get their first goal within the first few second of the third period although couldn’t get any momentum to mount a comeback regardless of having more shots on goal than the Lakers.
Overall a great performance by both teams who didn’t quit until the end of the game.
